Coaching

Our evolution into business and individual coaching has been a natural progression of our communication consulting business as we recognized that we had already been coaching our clients for many years. For nearly three decades we have:

  • Coached senior-level corporate executives how to develop, plan and implement highly effective external marketing and internal communication campaigns
  • Coached aspiring political candidates to help them better understand their motivations for running, decide whether to run for office, and if so, help them develop and deliver their winning campaign message
  • Coached executives in how to recruit, select, hire, develop and manage employees who best fit their organization’s culture and needs, to achieve high performance results
  • Coached individuals and helped “groomed” to climb the corporate ladder of success
  • Coached individuals in developing their own personal strategic life/career plan that will provide them with a healthy balance between career, family and other areas of life

Coaching helps organizations and individuals clarify their vision, overcome obstacles, change self-defeating beliefs and habits, build trust and goodwill with others, turn business around, and do whatever is required to achieve extraordinary results. Coaching is designed to engage clients in a deep and honest exploration of their goals and the actions required to accomplish them; then help them stay on track toward achieving those goals.

Business Coaching / Executive Coaching Modules

Even the successes of business disciplines that are normally thought of as being far removed from marketing and communication, like finances or operations, are governed by how effectively your organization communicates within and about those disciplines. While we do not claim to be experts in every functional area, we do not need to be to help you become more successful by helping you communicate more effectively within and about each discipline. Thus, from a communication perspective, we help businesses and executives be more successful in all disciplines by offering the following communication-oriented coaching modules.

  • Vision, Mission and Strategic Objectives Assessment — This module helps business leaders or individual executives reevaluate and update their vision, mission and strategic objectives; in short, their unique reason for existing as a for-profit or non-profit organization. The results of this module are re-written Vision, Mission and Strategic Objectives statements.
  • Strengths and Core Competencies Assessment — Using both the competitive Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOTS) Analysis model and the “appreciative inquiry” Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations and Results (SOAR) Analysis model, we help you assess where the organization and/or executive is now in terms of the key disciplines of external marketing, human resources, internal communication, finances, and operations.
  • Strategic Planning Process — Having identified where the organization is today in the five key disciplines of external marketing, internal communication, human resources, finances and operations, through SWOTS and SOAR analyses, this module develops actionable strategies, tactics, measurable goals, budgets, responsibilities and timelines for achieving those goals.
  • Periodic Performance Assessment — Having established measurable goals in the Strategic Planning module, this module is a program of period accountability meetings to help you evaluate progress toward those goals and any revisions, refinements or resources needed to keep moving toward achieving those goals.

Individual Life Coaching Modules

Using the same skills that we have used for three decades to help businesses develop Strategic Business Plans and be more successful, we also help the individuals define their Strategic Life Plans. We use “self discovery” techniques to help individuals discover their:

  • Personality — a profile of your individual personality style and preferences
  • Passions — that drive you to perform
  • Principles — that guide you, by which you make decisions
  • Purpose — your individual vision, mission and purpose in life
  • Plan — your personal Life Plan to help you fulfill your purpose in life

In short, we help you figure out where you are, where you want to go and how to get there. Coaching supports, challenges and holds clients accountable to make consistent, often dramatic, progress toward the realization of their most important aspirations.

A Life Coach does not tell you what to do. Instead, a Life Coach helps you through a process of self-discovery leading you to fully recognize your own natural potential, personality, passions, principles, and purpose in life. We provide Life Coaching through four formats:

  • Life Quest Seminar — Life Quest seminar participants complete a comprehensive life inventory, envision the future, and develop a personal mission and in-depth plan for the next stage of their life.
  • Life Strategies Seminar — This is a program based on personal empowerment and achieving results. The Life Strategies program enables people to live based on vision, integrity, commitment, personal responsibility and love for self and others.
  • Accountability Series — Designed to build upon lessons learned from, and maintain commitments made during, Life Quest and Life Strategies. Participants meet once each month for two hours to share success stories, review key concepts from each program, and clarify commitments for the upcoming month. There are 10 accountability sessions available per year.
  • Individual Life Coaching — For individuals who cannot attend one of the seminars, or who need more of a customized coaching approach, Ethridge & Associates will meet with individuals one-on-one or over the telephone to provide life coaching services.
